Located in Palazzo del Mare in Tuscany, Italy, these two small cottages are surrounded on three sides by the spectacular landscape on which they are surrounded. The courtyard house was designed by ALTUS Architecture and it was built in 2012.
This modest but beautiful residence has cedar-clad facades along with concrete walls that allow plenty of natural light to filter in. Another advantage of the courtyard house is that it allows incredibly beautiful views of the surrounding hills as well as the city. The interior and exterior spaces seamlessly combine while also making the outdoor area seem larger and more airy. The courtyard house is located in a small slope and it has a very simple layout incorporated into a timeless design.
It shares highly-rated features such as the beautiful glass walls and transparent facade thus giving it a modern look but at the same time maintaining its simplicity.
Its interior is decorated with tones of white, grey and wood, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The bathrooms are no different, either. These serve as bedrooms and they have access to bathrooms, storage or annexes from where we can enjoy fresh cold nights under the stars without disturbing anyone. The bathrooms, however, have been designed in a way that takes advantage of the natural light and the simplicity of the design.
