It is located in Tel Aviv, Israel.
bluff House by Pitsou Kedem Architects:
“A bluff house in Tel Aviv, ISRAEL stands under a condition to design spaces that have less number of walls and airy volumes and can easily be added to an existing building. The site of the bluff faces the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. These factors influenced the decision to build the low-lying house on such a site that was densely populated by neighbouring residences.
Informed through using glass walls, the house offers dramatic and picturesque reflected in the surrounding landscape. The lines and angles are human-built and the main structural element is at the time of day, opening the house to views directly in the external light. In this regard, it is worthwhile to introduce color and texture to the spaces.
The concept of bluff design was formalized around a peninsula on which floats a cantilevered structure. The structural unit is anchored to the site, blackening the stone walls giving a crisp and refined impression to the elevated terraces facing south and overlooking the sea. The same stone is used for the suspended framework. At the same time vertical aluminum blinds protect the main entrance from unwanted views.”
